Why they will merge wpmu into wordpress if wpmu is already done?

It would be much easier to just drop wordpress and replace it by wpmu. 
And then make some changes to make the multiblog environment an option.</description>

		<description>I am so looking forward to the WPMU/Wordpress merge - both versions will benifit so much from this merge.  Actually I&#039;ve been holding off on playing around with Wordpress MU for the last while, waiting for the merge because everything is going to change so much (I assume). 
I hope the merge will make Wordpress MU more accessable to the typical user, the way single user Wordpress is today.</description>
